Did you know Saturn's rings are made of rocks and ice? Saturn's name comes from the Roman god of agriculture? Also the Greek version is Kronos. Saturn is the sixth planet from the sun. It takes 29 earth years for Saturn to fully orbit the sun. A day on Saturn is 10 hours and 39 minutes. Saturn is the second biggest planet in our solar system. The planets mass is 568.3E24 kg. (95.16 Earth mass). Its force of gravity on the surface is 10.44 m/s. Saturn orbits the sun every 29.4 years. The atmosphere is made mostly of hydrogen and it has a small percentage of of helium as well. The average temperature of this planet is-270 degrees fahrenhieit (-168 degrees celsius), while the temperature on Earth is 15 degrees celcius and 61 degrees farhenhieit. It is a gas giant and its internal composition is hydrogen, helium, ice of ammonia, ice of methane and water ice. Saturn is a planet that has rings made of ice and rocks. The planet is very colorful itself but the colours are very dull. It has 62 moons and its biggest moon is titan, it is bigger than mercury and pluto. Titans atmosphere is made mostly of hydrogen just like Saturn. Saturn's rings were discovered in 1655 by Galileo Galilei. If a human would ever land on Saturn they would freeze while sinking and choking and being crushed. The day Saturday was named after this planet. Another cool fact is if there was enough water to fit Saturn it would float because it is made of helium and hydrogen. Also Earth can fit across Saturn NINE times! That's nine earths! Thank you for reading my space report, I hope you learned something new!
